Super berries smoothie

So I finally have more fruit after my dad did a little bit of grocery shopping this morning and I was really in the mood for something fruity and refreshing after yoga and my workout.  Here it is, enjoy!

Ingredients

3 bananas

2 tablespoons acai powder

2 tablespoons goji berries

Almond milk

1 or more blueberries

1 cup or more blackberries

5 dates, or add to taste

Blend everything together, adding almond milk and blueberries/blackberries as necessary.  Then pour it into glasses and top with you’re favorite ingredients.  I topped mine with goji berries and coconut shavings.

As always, be creative and enjoy!

Nutty Superfood Smoothie

This smoothie is inspired by health and fitness.  I’m basically drinking it before I go to the gym later and also as my after school snack.  It’s super filling and full of lots of things that are good for you! Like super-foods of all kinds.  Be creative with the toppings especially and enjoy!

Ingredients:

Banana

Almond milk

2 tablespons almond butter

1 to 2 tablespoons flax seed

Cinnamon to taste

Combine everything together in a blender, adding almond milk for texture and cinnamon and the other ingredients to taste.  I found it to be plenty sweet without a sweetener but if you want feel free to add agave or something else.

Then I added my toppings.  I used cacao nibs, coconut shavings, goji berries, chia seeds, hemp seeds, and cacao powder and but just use whatever you have on hand.  The picture below shows everything from left to right.

Then I topped it off with a walnut because why not? I like walnuts and it looked aesthetically pleasing (food art!) Be creative and enjoy!

Superfood peach blackberry blueberry smoothie

So school has started and I probably won’t have as much time to post but here is a smoothie I whipped up real quick before class. Basically you can use and combination of superfood a or none at all

Ingredients:
Banana
Peach
Frozen black berries and blueberries
Almond milk
Superfoods of choice (ex. Maca, hemp, chia, Acai, goji berries, etc. )

I blended up the banana, peach and almond milk first. Then added the black berries and blueberries. Then added spoonfuls if different superfoods and balanced out the flavour and texture with almond milk and frozen fruit. Have fun experimenting with this!! It resulted with a really pretty dark purple colour and I topped with chia and hemp seeds

Chocolate Strawberry Smoothie

This is a smoothie I made yesterday inspired by chocolate strawberries!

Ingredients
Strawberries (fresh, frozen, or both)
Raspberries (frozen)
Acai powder (spoonful)
3 dates
Almond milk
Maca powder (one spoonful)
Agave to taste
Cacao powder ( at least 2 tablespoons)
2 bananas

In a blender, combine everything except for the cacao powder. Add almond milk as necessary to reach desired consistency and add agave, dates, and strawberries to reach desires taste

When smoothie base is created pour two thirds into cups.

With the remaining third, blend up with the cacao powder to achieve the chocolate part of the smoothie and then try and pour around the outside of the pink smoothie ( I somewhat failed at this)

Afterwards, decorate the smoothie as you like. I drizzled with almond milk, coconut shavings and topped with a strawberry and cacao nibs. Enjoy!

Chocolate blueberry superfood

Chocolate blueberry superfood

This is one of my all time favorite smoothies to make variations of. The recipe varies a little bit so the taste does as well because I usually don’t use exact measurement but here is a rough recipe

Ingredient:
two bananas
almond milk ( at least 2/3 cup but it depends on how thick you want the smoothie)
handful of blueberries (preferably fresh)
two spoonfuls of cacao
spoonful of maca powder
teaspoon of cinnamon
1 to 3 dates
agave or choice of sweetener to taste

Basically you just blend everything up together and add more almond milk until it is the right consistency. If you want a fresher taste and don’t want to taste the superfood powders as much, just add more blueberries.

To garnish, I used sliced banana, blueberries, hemp seeds, agave, and vegan chocolate chips but have fun with the recipe and the decorating!
